The Sticker Shock Moment

We know the drill. The 5:00 AM alarms. The freezing cold rinks. The endless driving. And, of course, the bills.

As parents to two competitive figure skaters, we quickly learned that figure skating can be one of the most expensive sports in the world. But what frustrated us the most wasn't the cost of ice time or coaching, it was the gear.

We found ourselves constantly choosing between two bad options: paying astronomical prices for "name brand" skating items that were at most "meh", or buying more affordable items that were thin, poorly made, and fell apart.

We looked at a few items and thought, "Why is this so expensive for what it is?"

The PERSEA Advantage

We realized we were in a unique position to fix this.

With years of professional experience in international manufacturing and import/export, we knew exactly how & where these products are made. We knew that the high price tag on Amazon wasn't because of "premium materials", it was because of middlemen and markups. We call it the "Skate Tax."

We decided to do something about it. We leveraged our connections to go directly to some of the top factories, including some of the same ones contracted by some well-known athletic brands, and started developing our own line.

Our Secret Weapon: The R&D Team

PERSEA IceWorks isn't run by a corporate board in a boardroom; it's run by a family that spends WAY too much time at the rink.

Our two daughters aren't just the inspiration for the brand; they are our Head Quality Control and Design Coordinators. Every sample we get is put to the test in real practices. They test for comfort during spins, durability during falls, and warmth during those early morning sessions. The colors that we use, they chose it.

If a waistband slips, if a seam itches, or if a sock bunches up inside the boot, it gets modified and redone. We only sell what our daughters actually wear and love.

We created PERSEA IceWorks with a simple goal: To lower the barrier of entry or to create true value for those that love the sport.
